Many people struggle with knowing what God wants for their lives. They long for clarity about His hidden, personal will—what job to take, whom to marry, where to go. Yet often, this search for direction stems not from a desire to glorify God, but from a deeper yearning to fulfil personal ambitions or to fill a void within.
The truth is, God has already revealed His will to us in His Word. The Bible is His clear and timeless guidance, teaching us how to live, what to value, and how to draw close to Him. It is not that God is silent, but that we often overlook the foundation He has provided. Before we can grasp His personal will for our lives, we must first seek and obey His revealed will.
This begins with reading and studying Scripture, allowing it to transform our hearts and minds. Through this process, God aligns our desires with His. As we grow in relationship with Him, our selfish ambitions are replaced with a deep longing to glorify Him in all that we do.
God's personal will for us is not something we need to chase after in desperation. Instead, it is something He entrusts to us as we walk faithfully in what He has already made clear. When we prioritize His revealed will—seeking Him first, obeying His commands, and living for His glory—He prepares us for the specific purpose He has designed for our lives.
Let us not be consumed with fulfilling our own plans, but instead focus on fulfilling His. When our hearts are aligned with God’s, what He desires becomes what we desire. Our pursuit of His will is no longer about ourselves but about reflecting His love and glorifying His name.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for revealing Your will to us through Your Word. Forgive us when we seek our own ambitions instead of Your glory. Teach us to trust You and to focus on what You have already shown us in Scripture. Align our hearts with Yours, so that we long for what You long for and live for Your glory alone. Help us to walk faithfully in obedience to Your revealed will, trusting that in Your perfect timing, You will guide us in the paths You have prepared. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
